Dear Washington Irving Families,
Fall may be my favorite time of year but December is one of my favorite months! I love the colorful lights that illuminate our long evenings, the time spent with family, and who doesn’t love the B.C. Clark Jingle? (I’m hearing it as I write this!) The air is cool, crisp and sometimes downright frigid this time of year and because of this, we move our dismissal procedure indoors.
As always, our priority is the safety and security of our students. However, we also take into consideration the flow of traffic and efficiency of dismissal. This is why we issue the blue car rider tags at the beginning of the year to ensure the proper person is picking up the child and to speed up the process. Would you please help us in our efforts by assuring you have a school-issued blue car rider tag clearly visible in the dash window of your vehicle? One creative way I have seen the tag displayed is attaching it to the sun visor, as long as it is still clearly visible from the outside. Another is attaching it to a pants hanger that can quickly hang from the rear view mirror during dismissal. If you choose to park and walk in, please also have the tag with you.
We are always so appreciative of the help our families provide us. If you need another car rider tag for yourself or for an extra vehicle, please come to the office and we can provide one for you with proper identification (i.e. drivers license.)
