2022-2023 Teacher of the Year
I have taught for 11 years, 5 of which have been at WI. I became a teacher because of my Grandmother, Dr. Margaret Scott. She was a teacher for many years and then worked at OSU as a professor in Elementary Education. I have very fond memories of spending time at OSU pretending to be a teacher. She always helped me with school, provided me with many fun learning experiences, and supported and encouraged my journey in becoming a teacher. One way she did that was by supporting me in doing my student teaching in England. Through that experience and my experience in Early Childhood Education I have gained a passion for purposeful play and building relationships. It is important to me to create a safe and loving environment where children can explore and learn through play all while building relationships with my students, their families, and my school family. -Mrs. Rivera
