This document contains information regarding the first few days of school for our Kindergarten students.
Kindergarten placement
Kindergarten placement will be different than every other grade levels. Kindergarten is the only state-mandated grade where teachers do not already have knowledge of incoming students. All EPS kindergarten classrooms will participate in K Start for the first five days of school.
Why? To be more intentional in establishing thriving classroom communities. Balanced classrooms help create a successful kindergarten experience.
Teachers
observe children in a purposeful play environment
connect with children and learn individual personalities
Students
become familiar with kindergarten classrooms & teachers in a structured setting
engage in purposeful play activities
Parents will receive a video introduction from their child's teacher the evening of Wednesday August 23rd.
